Ball Bearing Low Pressure Turbo Upgrade | Cat C15 Acert
The streets keep asking, so we delivered! The BXS, MSX, & NXS C15 acert utilize a journal bearing high and low pressure turbocharger. But we have taken the Garrett GTA5518BR ball bearing center section from the later SDP series and stuffed it into the OEM housings.
This is a true bolt on upgrade*, as it uses the original style housings for easy installation. While this upgrade is NOT for everyone, for those looking to get every last drop of performance out of a factory style/location turbo, this turbo is for you.
Whats different between this turbo and the stock turbo?
This turbo has a high blade count compressor wheel and is a ball bearing design. The factory low pressure turbo is a 6+6 compressor wheel and a journal bearing design. The high blade count wheel should allow for better top end flow, and the ball bearing design should help reduce spool up time.

*your high pressure feedline may need some modification to clear the heat sink fins on the ball bearing cartridge.
