The Garrett G47 turbocharger represents a major evolution in large-frame turbocharger technology, combining Garrett's latest aerodynamic advancements with improved durability, reduced weight, and enhanced performance capabilities.
Built around a modern 13-blade forged billet compressor wheel, the G47 delivers exceptional airflow and compressor efficiency across a broad operating range. On the turbine side, Garrett upgraded the traditional GT47 turbine design to a 9-blade Mar-M super alloy turbine wheel, providing increased strength, improved thermal durability, and enhanced high-temperature performance for demanding diesel applications.
The G47 also features an innovative one-piece integrated bearing housing and backplate assembly, reducing overall turbocharger weight while improving structural rigidity and packaging efficiency.
