The Garrett G57 and G-XRace GXR57 turbochargers are built around an absolutely massive 118mm inducer / 112mm exducer turbine wheel, giving both platforms the exhaust flow capacity required to support serious horsepower in high-performance diesel and gasoline racing applications.
While both turbochargers share the same turbine section, the real difference lies on the compressor side.
Garrett G57 G-Series Turbocharger
The Garrett G57 G-Series utilizes a 13-blade fully-machined billet compressor wheel designed to deliver exceptional peak airflow and top-end horsepower. This compressor design is ideal for applications focused on maximum power output where operating conditions remain in the upper RPM range.
Garrett G-XRace GXR57 Turbocharger
The Garrett G-XRace GXR57 takes a different approach by utilizing an advanced 7+7 billet compressor wheel design. By reducing blade count and incorporating splitter blades, the GXR57 broadens the compressor's operating range, offering a wider powerband and improved efficiency across a larger portion of the engine's RPM range.
