Description

There are MANY choices for performance turbochargers for your Caterpillar engines, but for the select few owners who need to have the ABSOLUTE best of the best - this is it.  The Garrett GTX line is a dual ball bearing design, this turbo spools effortlessly and the wheels just keep spinning.  This 85MM GT5533 Supercore should easily support 800+ horsepower at the tire with appropriate supporting mods.  We would recommend this turbo for a 14.6L with 55s (or larger), cam, and healthy file.  This turbo could also easily be adapted for useage on any other T6 manifold (Detroit, Cummins, etc). 

What makes this turbo special:

The major difference between this turbo and others on the market is the dual ball bearing design.  The reduced resistance and reduced drag of the ball bearing design is far superior to the drag and resistance created by a journal bearing design.  This reduced drag results in much quicker spool up times and reduced wheel speed lost (as the ball bearing will continue to spin with less drive pressure).  This turbo will have spool up characteristics similar to a much smaller turbo, while maintaining the capability to support massive peak horsepower.

Aside from being ball bearing, Garrett is known for their extremely efficient turbines and just general high quality construction.  This turbo features a 13 blade high flowing billet compressor wheel, along with being a boreless design to help reduce the chance of fatigue failure during extreme duty cycles.
