We took our most popular bolt on upgrade for Caterpillar 3406E and Caterpillar C15 Engines. (6NZ, 5EK, 1LW, etc), and added wastegate :)
This turbo serves a few potential customers:
1) The customer running slightly too much power for a traditional non gated 78/1.32, this will allow you to retain the quick low end spool up of a 1.32, without overspeeding the turbo up top and causing a turbo failure.
2) The customer who is nervous or has a driver in their truck and wants to make sure not to overspeed the turbo or overboost.
3) The customer that wants to add a manual boost controller and dial in peak boost and boost ramp up to their specific need (Careful here boys, good way to blow you're shit up if you're not careful)
Good for roughly 600HP depending on supporting mods, can be used on a 100% stock truck. Gate starts to open around 29PSI, slowing boost ramp up, then the gate is fully open at 38PSI. The turbo *MAY* build more then 38PSI as internal gates fully open can still allow enough exhaust gas to continue to spool the turbo. Elevation and other factors will have an impact here.
